Serengeti National Park

Home to the iconic Great Migration.

One of our planet’s most spectacular wildlife events is the annual wildebeest migration which can be witnessed in Northern Tanzania. It is the largest and longest over-land migration and is one of the Wonders of the Natural World.

Each year millions of wildebeest follow the lush grass from the Southern Serengeti up into Kenya. It happens across the course of the year: the herds gather in the South ahead of the April/May rains to give birth to their young. Once the rains have stopped and the grass has dried up, they begin the march North to Kenya to find fresh grazing before heading back to the to Tanzania in November, starting the cycle once more. It ’s one of the biggest animal migrations on the planet and a phenomenal site to see.

Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly beautiful setting and the best place in Tanzania to see the Big Five. However, as one of the world’s most astonishing and renowned natural wonders, the Ngorongoro Crater does get busy, and at times very busy. Due to the crowds we recommend a two-night stay only here, then moving on to the Serengeti for a quieter, more private safari experience.

Spanning roughly 8,300 sq kms (3,192 sq miles), the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a perfect microcosm of East Africa: it combines spectacular scenery and valuable archeological sites with mountains, forests, grassland plains, extinct volcanoes and a staggering profusion of wildlife

Lake Manyara National Park

The loveliest Lake in Africa!

This small, yet spectacular safari park sits between the Great Rift Valley’s steep Western escarpment and the Lake Manyara, a shallow alkaline lake.

Compact and pretty, come to Manyara for a safari in a microcosm and excellent birding too.

Tarangire National Park

Calm and beauty together.

Located between the meadows of Masai Steppe to the south east and the lakes of the Great Rift Valley to the north and west, at its best when it’s dry, Tarangire is an excellent park, with abundant game and very varied bird-life.
The bulk of it is also relatively quiet, with few people reaching the southern regions where safaris can still find a sense of ‘wilderness.’

The birds within the Tarangire are also quite many, there are over 500 species that have been identified here. The lovebirds that are yellow collared, the shy starlings are in plenty and widespread in Tanzania.
